MAPS Debuts High-Barrier Lidding Stock
Food Packagers' interest spurs MAPS to
introduce high-barrier lidding stock for modified atmosphere
packaging.
BALTIMORE, MD—July 1, 2004—In
response to food packagers’
interest, Mid-Atlantic Packaging Supply, Inc. (MAPS) has
added high-barrier packaging materials to its packaging
supply capabilities.
High-barrier packaging is an important
packaging technique for many food products and critical
to ensure the flavor and texture of low-fat and non-fat
foods.
MAPS’ new
high-barrier lidding stock not only helps preserve the freshness
of food but also is an easy peel product that sticks to
PET, PD and PP trays. In addition, it offers superior clarity,
is self-venting, and FDA-compliant for food products.
Firm Introduces Trays
MAPS has also announced the addition of a complete line
of CPET, PP and APET stock trays to its product offerings
in a variety of styles and sizes. "Now that we sell both
the lids and the trays, MAPS can serve as a one-stop shop
for food packaging clients," says Scott Manning, executive
vice president .
"Purchasing both the lids and the
trays from the same vendor enables food packagers to simplify
operations and provides the competitive advantage of shortening
delivery lead-times," says Manning.
